I tell the truth about models
Overconfidence costs money and credibility. I'd rather say "here's what we don't know" than let someone bet on a forecast that won't hold up.
About
I'm Krrish. Before college, I reached out to 500+ people in finance and tech to understand what they actually did all day. That month of conversations convinced me this was the right path, and in June 2026, I started living it as a Quant Analytics intern at Baker Street Advisors.
Overconfidence costs money and credibility. I'd rather say "here's what we don't know" than let someone bet on a forecast that won't hold up.
Whether it's screening 1,000 applications or cross-validating six years of data, I care about process that stays consistent when things get big.
Time-series, noise, decisions under uncertainty. That's the work I keep coming back to, in research and in where I want my career to go.
Story
Forecasting, messy real-world data, knowing if your model actually works. That's what pulled me in. I did research with Prof. Saurabh Kumar at IIM Indore, work as a research assistant in the USF Economics department, and recently joined Baker Street Advisors on their Investment Strategy Group as a Quant Analytics intern. All of it taught me what serious data work actually looks like, not just the modeling part, but the cleaning, testing, and documentation around it.
On the side, I founded Forbes Student Research (every student we accepted got into at least one Ivy), lead the Data Science Association, and teach 80+ students in Java and R plus 30+ in SQL. I like building things, and explaining them to people who aren't in the weeds.
Beyond research
TA for Java and R (80+ students) and SQL workshops for 30+ more. The ones I worked with closely saw real improvement, and a lot of them came back for my sections.
I run USF's data science club. We've brought in Google, GeoPogo, Salesforce, and built projects like a live housing price predictor.
I mentor 50+ students through MAGIS and STEP, leadership programs where you actually show up for people.
I've played competitively for 10+ years (national level in India, NTRP 5.0+ now). It taught me focus and staying calm when the pressure's on.
